Nasheli Juliana Ortiz González is a Puerto Rican designer, educator, and cultural strategist with over two decades of leadership across the arts, humanities, and nonprofit sectors. Her interdisciplinary practice bridges fashion, social justice, and community-centered design, grounded in decolonial and equity-driven frameworks.

As former Executive Director of Taller Puertorriqueño in Philadelphia—the largest Latinx arts organization in the region—Ortiz González led transformative institutional restructuring, expanded development capacity, and developed inclusive cultural programming deeply connected to the Puerto Rican diaspora. She is also co-founder of 22 Studio, a participatory design firm focused on socio-cultural infrastructure and urban engagement, and principal of her fashion label, Nasheli Juliana, which challenges global fashion systems through ethical production and political expression.

As a scholar, she has investigated the role of clothing in Caribbean and Puerto Rican political movements, exploring how fashion serves as a form of resistance, storytelling telling,  identity, collective memory, and history preservation.

Ortiz González possesses extensive networks within Puerto Rico’s cultural ecosystem, from grassroots movements to academic institutions. Her experience spans public speaking, international exhibitions, grant acquisition, and strategic development. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she brings clarity, adaptability, and political acumen to collaborative environments.

Her work—featured in Vogue, Forbes, and Netflix—demonstrates a rare blend of visionary creativity and strategic leadership, reflecting her commitment to building sustainable, justice-oriented cultural ecosystems in Puerto Rico and across the diaspora.
